Cesare Casadei has been a revelation at the just concluded U20 World Cup and the Italian is ready to shine brightest for Chelsea when the new season commences.

Cesare Casadei is one of the next big things in football following the conclusion of the FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina.

The Italian attacking midfielder shone brightly as he helped his team into the final but lost to eventual winners Uruguay by 1-0 scoreline.

The Chelsea star won the Most Valuable Player award and the Golden Boot combined, leaving the tournament heads raised despite not winning the ultimate prize for his country.

Here are five reasons Casadei is the next big thing in football

1. He is about to be the most promising U20 star

After winning the MVP at the just concluded Word Cup, Casadei joined the likes of Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba and Sergio Aguero who also flourished in past U20 tournaments.

These players became superstars for their respective teams in Europe and have won trophies at the biggest level of the game.

Casadei is likely to follow in the footsteps of top players who made their way to the top of the game with his bundle of skills.

2. He joined Chelsea from Inter Milan

The 20-year-old was spotted by Chelsea in the summer of 2022 and was signed for an impressive £12.8m plus £4m add ons.

New Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino will be weighing his options for the midfielder when the new season begins in the Premier League.

3. He scored 7 goals and made 2 assists

For a midfielder to have notched up seven and assisting two, shows the level the attack minded Casadei is.

He only failed to score in the match against Nigeria and Uruguay in the entire tournament but was always at the right place to find the back of the net.

No wonder the 20-year-old was awarded with the Player of the Tournament accolade for his contributions to the Italian side.

4. He became Italy’s first topscorer in an U20 tournament

The Chelsea star is the first European player to win the Golden Ball and the Golden Boot at the same U20 World Cup tournament.

Casadei is a superstar in the making and the U20 platform has brought the attention of the world into his promising career.

5. Incredible numbers at the U20 World Cup

The powerful box-to-box midfielder posted incredible numbers at the just concluded FIFA U20 tournament.

Apart from scoring goals, Casadei has some other special skills as he completed 11 tackles, had nine successive dribbles, won 50 duels and 80 per cent passing accuracy in the tournament, according to Football Talent Scout.
