Conor Gallagher: Midfielder rejects Chelsea’s strange contract offer
The England midfielder is reportedly closing in on a move to Atletico Madrid.
Gallagher not welcomed in Chelsea dressing room
According to Daily Mail, Gallagher has been informed that he is not welcomed to the Chelsea dressing room when he returns from his holiday.
According to reports, Gallagher is willing to remain at his childhood club if a longer-term contract is given.
Gallagher turned down a £57.5 million offer from Aston Villa in June, but Chelsea offered him a new deal that would have been two years with a one-year option.
However, he rejected the new contract offer which led the club to try to cash in on the Euro 2024 finalist.
Chelsea received the most recent offer from Atletico Madrid which was accepted as the midfielder edged closer to leaving the club.
After agreeing on the fee with Chelsea, Atletico Madrid have been pressing for a response, but Gallagher isn't quite sure it's the right move for him.
As it stands, there has been no confirmation of the move and Chelsea are awaiting Gallagher’s decision.
