Reece James is nearing a return to first-team action for Chelsea in the coming weeks.

James has been sidelined with a hamstring problem since the opening weekend of the season against Liverpool and his absence has been keenly felt.

After Chelsea's impressive display against Liverpool, Mauricio Pochettino's men have fallen down the table to 14th with 3 defeats from their opening 6 games.

The Blues boss has had to contend with plenty of injuries early on in his tenure at Stamford Bridge and James returning would be a big boost.

According to the DailyMail, James is stepping up his recovery from a hamstring strain and could be available for the Arsenal clash after the international break.

Malo Gusto has filled in for James at right-back during his absence but will miss the next three games after being sent off in the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
