The Blues are ready to propose to Brighton a swap deal in order to get their target.

Chelsea are leading the race to sign Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The Ecuadorian has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea are considering using Conor Gallagher, a £45 million star, in a swap deal.

Chelsea, however, are set to face stiff competition from Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and even Arsenal. The Gunners have recently cooled their interest in Caicedo as they prioritise West Ham United’s Declan Rice.

The Blues’ offer for Caicedo is understood to be more substantial compared to United’s and Bayern's, and as a result, they are leading the race to win the signature of the highly-rated midfielder.

Having rejected Arsenal’s £70 million bid in January, Brighton expect to get a substantial offer on their star.

Brighton’s owner, Tony Bloom, expects offers as high as £120 million for Caicedo, given how he rates him. However, the Blues do not have the intention of paying £100 million for their target since they are considering using a number of players.

Gallagher could be open to a move given the part-time role he played last season. Everton made a £45 million bid for the England midfielder in January but were not successful.

Tottenham Hotspur are also considered an interested party in Gallagher.

Caicedo played a primary role last season as Brighton finished sixth in the Premier League and earned a European ticket for the first time in their history.
