Chelsea are reportedly willing to cut their losses on underperforming star.

Chelsea are reportedly gearing up for a significant shake-up in the summer transfer window, with Marc Cucurella earmarked for an exit, according to insider buzz from TEAMtalk.

The Blues, under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino, are believed to be assessing their squad with an eye on reshuffling their ranks, and Cucurella's name has surfaced as a likely candidate to make way for new blood.

Cucurella on the Move?

Despite being tied down until 2028, Chelsea seem intent on parting ways with the Spanish defender once the season wraps up. Cucurella, who was previously in the crosshairs for a loan stint at Manchester United that failed to materialize, has struggled to cement his place in Pochettino's plans.

With a total of 706 minutes on the Premier League clock for the 2023-24 season and sidelined by an ankle injury since December, it appears the 25-year-old's future lies elsewhere.

Market Value and Player's Stance

Originally secured for a hefty £65m from Brighton, Cucurella's market value has taken a hit, now standing at a reduced figure according to Transfermarkt. Despite the downturn in his valuation and his limited appearances – 45 across all competitions since joining Chelsea – Cucurella had expressed a keen interest in staying put over the summer, highlighting the challenges and pressure of adapting to life at a top club.

"Yes, for sure I want to stay at Chelsea. I am very happy here," he shared, acknowledging the tough adaptation period and the weight of expectations at Stamford Bridge.

With Chelsea open to offers, the scenario sets the stage for potential suitors to take a chance on Cucurella, even as the London club braces for a financial hit. The unfolding summer will reveal whether Cucurella's resolve to remain a Blue withstands the realities of professional football's ever-changing landscape.
