Chelsea burst out of the blocks, with Cole Palmer striking inside four minutes, only to be denied by a razor-thin offside call. Undeterred, the Blues continued their blistering start, and their persistence paid off in the 15th minute.
Palmer's sublime through-ball released Pedro Neto down the left flank, and the Portuguese winger's pinpoint cross found Nicolas Jackson, who slotted home with ease.
Newcastle responded vigorously, threatening midway through the half, and soon got an equaliser in the 32nd minute, when Alexander Isak tapped into an empty net following Lewis Hall's inviting cross.
Chelsea emerged from the halftime break with renewed intensity, restoring their lead within two minutes. Palmer spearheaded the charge, breaching the Newcastle defence with a powerful low drive past Nick Pope.
As the visitors struggled to regain momentum, Eddie Howe's side took time to regain their footing. Isak nearly doubled his tally with a fortuitous cross that almost crept in, but Wesley Fofana's goal-line clearance denied him. Later, Isak rounded Robert Sanchez, only to falter with the final ball. Chelsea weathered the storm, securing their seventh consecutive victory.
