Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke to miss two months of action due to knee ligament injury
Super Eagles attacker Chidera Ejuke is set to miss the next two months of football because of a knee ligament injury.
The winger has been out of action since December 7, 2022 after Hertha Berlin’s game against Eintracht Braunschweig.
The full extent of his injury has now been revealed with the 25-year-old expected to miss at least two more months of action as he works toward recovery.
Chidera Ejuke out for two months
German publication, Bild as per Fussball reports that Ejuke will be out with a knee ligament injury for at least eight weeks.
Earlier reports suggested the player could be in line to return to fitness this month but that has now been debunked and extended by two more months.
Ejuke who is on loan from CSKA Moscow is now set to miss the next eight games for Hertha Berlin as the team aims to avoid relegation from the German Bundesliga.
The tricky winger arrived at Hertha Berlin in July 2022, and he quickly slotted in making 15 appearances and nicking three assists.
Hertha Berlin currently sit 17th in the Bundesliga and have only garnered 14 points from 17 games, just three points away from safety.
If they aim to beat the drop this season, Coach Sandro Schwarz would welcome every helping hand they can get including Ejuke.
