PSG manager urges his players to keep their eyes on the ball in the Ligue 1 title race.
Christophe Galtier has called on his Paris Saint-Germain players to fight until the end to win the Ligue 1 title.
The manager of the Paris giants urged his players not to get over the crushing defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich that saw them get knocked out of the UCL, telling them to keep their eyes on the Ligue 1 prize.
What Galtier said
Christophe Galtier was speaking in today's press conference ahead of PSG's Ligue 1 clash against Brest.
The Parisians are currently enjoying a three-game winning streak in the domestic league, and Galtier would like his team to continue in that vein and not allow the loss in Europe against Bayern affect them.
He explained that winning the Ligue 1 is no easy feat, and the difficulty of the journey to being crowned champions should not be underestimated.
He acknowledged their healthy lead in the competition, but he urged his players not to be complacent and finish the job they started.
“The media sends out the message that winning the title is easy. It’s not,” He said per GFFN.
“Winning is not normal. We might have an eight-point lead, but we’re going to have to fight until the end.
“It’s a big blow for the squad but we shouldn’t play down becoming champions.”
He went on to draw comparisons with Bayern Munich, who knocked them out of the Champions League, saying they also have monopolistic dominance of their league and they are not winning the Champions League every season, but that has never prevented them from going all out to celebrate league title wins, a competition they have won for 10 years straight.
“When I see what happens in other leagues—for example, look at Bayern Munich—they don’t win the Champions League every year, but every time they win the league title they’re proud of it, they celebrate it with all of the club’s employees. We will have to fight until the end.”

PSG's set for historic title
Paris Saint-Germain are currently eight points ahead of second-placed Marseille at the top of Ligue 1.
They have shaken off their poor post-World Cup form and have now won three straight games, including a statement 3-0 victory over second-placed Marseille, and a 4-0 victory over the champions of two seasons ago, Lille.
They are on course to win a historic 11th Ligue 1 title, moving one clear of their joint record with Saint-Etienne of 10 league titles.
