Lamine Yamal came second in Champions League dribbling stats.

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal was one of the best dribblers in the Champions League first phase; however, he missed out on leading the dribbles completed list to AC Milan's Rafael Leao.

The Blaugrana are one of the best performers in the UCL’s league stage, thanks in part to Yamal. While his teammate Raphinha dominated in goals and assists contribution, dribbling was where Yamal truly excelled.

Yamal loses to Leao

The 17-year-old was one of the top dribblers in the Champions League this season, as his 26 completed take-ons are the second most in the competition.

Milan's Leao took the top spot, however, with 30, underscoring his immense dribbling strength and Barcelona's interest in him.

The Blaugrana were keen on landing him last summer; however, their finances prevented them from pursuing the deal intently. With the left-wing position still without any natural occupier, Leao is still linked with a summer move for the winger.

Yamal does not sit alone in second place; Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Shakhtar’s Kevin have 26 as well. In fifth place, according to Whoscored, is Salzburg’s Oscar Gloukh.

Only Rogers, Yamal and Leao on this list will be able to add to their tally, as Salzburg and Shakhtar are out of the competition. Leao and his Milan will face Feyenoord in the playoffs, while Barcelona and Villa have already booked spots in the round of 16.
