In a closely contested Football Kenya Federation Premier League match, Nairobi City Stars secured a crucial victory against Kakamega Homeboyz.
Nairobi City Stars pulled off another massive upset by beating Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 at Bukhungu Stadium on Friday afternoon in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match.
After a quiet opening phase, Homeboyz came up with the first notable effort on goal, as Davis Kasirye let fly a right-footed shot which forced goalkeeper Edwin Mukolwe into a sharp save on the 10 minute mark.
Minutes later, City Stars midfielder Vincent Owino caught Brian Chala in possession and looked set to open the scoring, but the Homeboyz defender recovered to make a last-gasp challenge and spare his own blushes.

However, the deadlock was broken by the visitors in the 61st minute when Clifford Ouma's powerful shot was punched by goalkeeper James Ssetuba, and the rebound was found by Wycliffe Omondi, who sent it into the back of the net.
Homeboyz pressed on as the 70th minute approached and took the game to City Stars , giving the likes of Edwin Buliba and Timothy Muganda a number of questions to answer.
