The Harambee Stars winger is optimistic that he can still turn up big for Ingwe as the season is still short.
AFC Leopards winger Cliff Nyakeya is determined to take up ‘clutch’ responsibility for his side after a slow start to the season that has seen the side gather just four points from a possible 18.
Ingwe lost 2-0 to Gor Mahia over the weekend, which saw the side dropping perilously into the relegation places, leaving them with so much work to do if they are to start soaring up the league table.
Nyakeya started the game as the captain for the day, but struggled to make much of an impact before being substituted for Jaffari Owiti midway through the second half of the game.

STARS ABROAD Omurwa shines as Estrela Amaradora edge past Casa Pia
Johnstone Omurwa's standout performance helps Estrela Amaradora clinch a dramatic late victory, breaking their winless streak and setting the stage for the Kenya-Russia friendly.
The former Mathare United winger however, is optimistic that he can still turn up big for Ingwe as the season is still short.
“The team comes first. I would like to see the team getting wins and good results then from there, I can have my targets as an individual,” Nyakeya told Pulse Sports.
Nyakeya has made a bullish statement that he would like to be the player that scores ‘the winning goal’ on a regular basis for the side to help them start winning games on a regular basis.
“I will work hard. If I score, I want it to be the winning goal. It should not be I score but we draw or lose.

FOOTBALL ‘Where is Omala?’ - Fans question exclusion of Gor Mahia striker from Harambee Stars squad
A section of Harambee Stars fans have expressed their displeasure at the exclusion of Gor Mahia striker Benson Omala from the team set to face Russia in a friendly match
“If I score and we win, plus for the team and plus for me.”
Ingwe are yet to win a single game this season, drawing four and losing two of their opening six fixtures, and in the two games before the Gor Mahia match, they dropped points from winning positions, which counted dear against them.
Against Police, they went ahead twice, but could not hang on to their lead at Kasarani, and both sides had to leave Kasarani sharing the spoils.

Leopards sit 17th in the table, three points ahead of rock-bottom Sofapaka.
