Bandari's ruthless finishing in the second half was enough to give them all the three points at Kariobangi Sharks' expense at the Kasarani Annex on Saturday.

Bandari FC will be travelling back to Mombasa grinning from ear to ear after their rampant second-half display was enough to give them all three points following a 2-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks at the Kasarani Annex on Saturday afternoon.

The first half was just a tale of Kariobangi Sharks classically trying to work the ball into the box while Bandari resorted to creating their own goal-scoring opportunities on the break.

After a fairly even first 30 minutes, Bandari had two opportunities to break the deadlock against the run of play, with striker Derrick Nsibambi playing a big part in threatening the Sharks' defense.

The first came in the 35th minute when he found himself through on goal but shot the ball over the bar. The second came when the Ugandan got the ball from the right flank before cutting inside with it to set up Hassan Beja, whose effort went just wide of the post.

Bandari became the first to ask questions after the break through James Kinyanjui, who was found down the right flank with a wonderful diagonal whipped in from the other flank before he crossed a ball from the byline leading to a corner.

Moments later, they would finally draw first blood through Nsibambi himself when he found the back of the net from a Kinyanjui corner.

Fidel Origa should have made it two when the evergreen Nsibambi managed to evade pressure inside the Sharks box before setting the defensive midfielder up, but he shot the ball way over the bar.

Sharks were certainly under pressure especially from setpieces, but had a chance to restore parity from a set piece situation in the 58th minute, but Luke Otiala’s effort landed straight onto the hands of the keeper.

They had another more clear-cut opportunity moments later which Geoffrey Onyango should have converted when Leonlevitt Otieno whipped in a low cross from the right wing but they could not make it count.

Sharks just could not get going, and were 2-0 down thanks to right back Atariza Amai, who slotted the ball home in the 69th minute.

Sharks had another more clear-cut opportunity moments later which Geoffrey Onyango should have converted when Leonlevitt Otieno whipped in a low cross from the right wing but they could not make it count.

The result now means that Bandari have moved within touching distance of leaders Posta Rangers ahead of the international break.
