Following the accident, Boniface was hospitalised for precautionary measures but thankfully only suffered minor injuries, including cuts on his hand.
The club decided to exclude him from the Champions League squad to ensure his well-being during recovery and for precautionary reasons.
But ahead of their upcoming Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen, Leverkusen expressed their relief and excitement at having Boniface back in training.
The club shared a post on social media platform X, stating, “Comrade back on the training pitch,” indicating that he is fit to return to action soon.
Despite being overlooked for the CAF Player of the Year award recently, Boniface has been in excellent form this season, netting five goals and providing one assist in just seven Bundesliga matches.
He is expected to play a significant role in Leverkusen's next game against Bremen as they aim to maintain their strong performance in both domestic and European competitions.
Meanwhile, Fans across Nigeria and beyond have expressed their anger after Super Eagles star Boniface was shockingly left out of the final shortlist for the 2024 CAF African Player of the Year award.
