Captain Willian Troost-Ekong and Iwobi stole the show with Boniface’s iconic celebration in Super Eagles training.

Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong and midfielder Alex Iwobi brought a touch of humour and brotherhood to training as they mimicked Victor Boniface's iconic celebration ahead of Nigeria's AFCONQ2025 clash against Rwanda

The Super Eagles were in high spirits during their training sessions, preparing to face the Amavubi in a match that, while not crucial for Nigeria’s qualification, remains important for their opponents.

In a lighthearted moment shared on social media, Troost-Ekong posted a picture of the team enjoying their training, capturing Iwobi and himself reenacting Boniface’s trademark celebration.

The post quickly gained traction, with Troost-Ekong tagging Boniface and captioning it “Comrade Goodnight,” a phrase that reflects both respect and friendship among teammates.

The Super Eagles are looking to end the qualifiers on a high note after securing their position as Group D winners with a hard-fought draw against Benin.

Although the upcoming match against Rwanda is a dead rubber for Nigeria, it holds critical importance for the Amavubi, who are still vying for qualification alongside Benin.

Troost-Ekong’s playful gesture highlights the positive atmosphere within the squad as they prepare for their final game. The team’s unity and morale are essential as they aim to showcase their skills and finish the qualifiers in top form.
