The change of date was a result of a political rally billed for Lokoja Confluence stadium
The Nigeria Women's Premier League (NWFL) matchday seven between Confluence Queens and Ibom Angels of Uyo has been moved to Friday, February 10th.
The reschedule was a result of a clash in date with a political rally billed for the same venue, the Lokoja Confluence stadium
Confluence Queens, Team Manager, Tosin Olorunleke Ojo confirmed that the away team, the Ibom Angels, and the league body are fully aware of the development.
She added that the rally will hold on Wednesday and the stadium will be cleaned on Thursday.
"We wrote to the league body to have our match against the Ibom Angels moved to Friday because a political rally is scheduled for the same date at the same venue, which the request has been granted.
The rally will hold on Wednesday, the following day, which is Thursday, will be used for cleaning the stadium, and our match will now be played on Friday."
"Also, the away team is also carried along in this request, and everything is now set. The match will be played on Friday and we are calling on all football lovers in the state to come out in large numbers to support the team."
Confluence Queens are unbeaten in their last three matches and will be looking forward to making it four.
