Gallagher has attracted interest from Everton and other clubs, but Chelsea are unwilling to let him go for cheap
Chelsea’s Connor Gallagher is set to stay with the club after the club deemed Everton’s approach for the midfielder insufficient.
Chelsea blocks Gallagher move
Gallagher looked set for a move to Everton after the toffees were rumoured to make a £40 million bid for the English midfielder, but that move seems to be off after Chelsea pulled the plug.
Chelsea are unwilling to allow Gallagher to leave on loan again and consider the financial aspects of all the approaches for a permanent deal for Gallagher unfair to the club.
As a result, Chelsea are unwilling to allow Gallagher to leave, even though he has not played many games for the club this season.
Gallagher fighting for playing time at Chelsea
In addition to wanting a sizeable sum for Gallagher, Chelsea also see the midfielder as one of the young players at the centre of the club's overhaul and will only sell him if they have to.
Gallagher has only started 11 matches for Chelsea in all competitions this season and would have loved to start a lot more, like during his loan spell at Crystal Palace, but it appears that he will have to fight for that at Chelsea.
Whether he can do that is left to be seen. If he fails to see more game time, he could be tempted to push for a move away in the summer.
