Johnathan McKinstry pens emotional farewell message to Gor Mahia
After two seasons, the former Uganda Cranes head coach has bid farewell to Gor Mahia, having won two FKF Premier League titles.
The coach also highlighted his defensive tactics aiming to stifle Zambia's ability to create scoring opportunities.
"When we arrived, we recognized they were a strong side. Our goal was to deny them by not allowing them to pass in the passing lanes and to make sure they couldn't bring in those crosses because they were trying to spread us wide," he noted.
Despite the success, Odhiambo acknowledged there were areas needing improvement.
"Another thing we knew was that if we scored early goals, they would come at us, and we could hit them on the counter. However, that strategy didn't work very well, and it's an area we need to work on. Now this game is behind us, and we are looking ahead to the Comoros game. If we win, we will be in the knockout stages," he concluded.
