Cristiano Ronaldo wished his former club incredible success in their future endeavours.

Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his undying love for Manchester United, despite leaving the club in disastrous circumstances.

The 39-year-old is a Manchester United legend through and through. He played for the Red Devils across two stints: the first was as a youngster cutting his teeth and emerging into greatness, the other as a veteran in the twilight of his career.

The stage of his career at which he played for the club is not the only difference between both stints, as the level of success he enjoyed was also night and day.

He won nine trophies during his first going at the club, including the Champions League and a treble of Premier League trophies. He was also named the best player in the world in one of his seasons at the club, such were the heights he reached.

The second, however, the total of a season-and-a-half he was not remotely as successful personally and collectively; worst still, he left the club in terrible conditions, as the Manchester United hierarchy terminated his contract following a flagrant interview in which he slammed the club's administration, his coaches, and some of his teammates at the time.

Ronaldo still loves Manchester United

Despite the tumultuous circumstances that led to his exit from the club, Ronaldo has love for the club, as he expressed in a recent interview, stating that he wants to see them succeed.

“I repeat that I still love Manchester United,” Ronaldo said recently, per Fabrizio Romano. “I wish Manchester United all the best.”

Meanwhile, Ronaldo continued to prove that he still belongs in the elites, as he scored in a second consecutive game to help Portugal beat Scotland and race to the top of their Nations League group standings.
