The proven goal-scorer, who sealed a move to Uganda Premier League newbies NEC FC, spent last season at Vipers, where he won both the league and Uganda Cup championships.

Days after resolving his transfer dispute with Vipers SC and FUFA, forward Cromwell Rwothomio Abang has tendered his farewell to the Venoms.

Reports indicated Vipers had denied Rwothomio a release before taking matters to FUFA, eventually granting him the green door to seek a move elsewhere.

The proven goal-scorer, who sealed a move to Uganda Premier League newbies NEC FC, spent last season at Vipers, where he won both the league and Uganda Cup championships.

However, headed into this campaign, he was deemed surplus to requirements at Kitende, forcing a move away to the current league leaders.

"Grateful, thankful and bless you," Rwothomio, who attached the Vipers' team image celebrating their Uganda Cup, posted on his Facebook page.

Rwothomio will hope to revive his career, having had a quiet year at Vipers, where he only scored three goals in 23 matches in the league.

It was a low return, given that he had netted 35 times for URA FC in 77 games previously across three and a half seasons.

He is expected to play a starring role and add goals and experience for NEC as they hope to make it count in their first-ever season in the top flight.

The Bugolobi-based outfit will play record holders SC Villa (16 titles) on Friday in their next outing, and Rwothomio is expected to feature.
