The Eagles are winless in 2023 and lost 1-0 to Brighton on Wednesday.
Crystal Palace have sacked Patrick Vieira as their manager.
The Frenchman’s last match in charge of the Eagles was a 1-0 loss to Brighton. This was the fourth successive match in which Palace have failed to score.
In his statement confirming Vieira’s exit, the club’s chairman Steve Parish regretted that they have parted ways with the former Arsenal star.
"It is with enormous regret that this difficult decision has been made. Ultimately, results in recent months have placed us in a precarious league position and we felt a change is necessary to give us the best chance of retaining Premier League status," Parish noted.
"That said, Patrick’s impact since joining us in the summer of 2021 has been significant, and he is held in the highest regard by myself, and all of his colleagues.
"He led the team to a Wembley FA Cup semi-final and respectable 12th placed finish last season playing some exciting football, which was a challenging and crucial campaign for the club given the changes we made to the squad prior to his arrival.
"Patrick has given his all to the club, and we all thank him and his team for their service."
Vieira was appointed in the summer of 2021 to replace Roy Hodgson and helped the South London club to finish 12th in the Premier League last season.
However, the Eagles have failed to win their last 12 games in all competitions and dropped to within three points of the danger zone.
Palace also exited the FA Cup in the third round when they were eliminated by struggling Southampton.
Palace will be hosted on Sunday by Arsenal for a Premier League match.
