The disgraced Brazilian footballer was recently spotted back on the pitch.

Dani Alves has been spotted engaging in a casual football game in Barcelona just months after his release from prison.

The disgraced footballer, who was incarcerated for over a year following his arrest in January 2023 on charges of sexual assault, has seemingly made a public return to the pitch.

Following his release on a $1 million bail in March 2024, Alves participated in an informal match on an artificial turf field in the Catalan capital.

According to Spanish newspaper  MARCA, the match was organized via a popular mobile app designed for arranging local soccer games.

In footage that emerged on social media, Alves sported a Boca Juniors jersey—a notable choice considering he has never played for the Argentine club.

Despite his high profile, Alves initially went unrecognized by many of the participants.

However, as the game progressed, his identity became clear, leading to a wave of interest from spectators and fans eager to capture photographs with the former Barcelona and PSG star.

Dani Alves’ return to the field is still being overshadowed by his ongoing legal battles.

As mentioned earlier, the 40-year-old Brazilian was arrested in January 2023.

Subsequently, he was charged with sexual assault following an alleged incident at a Barcelona nightclub in Sutton.

Initially faced with a potential 12-year prison sentence, Alves was ultimately sentenced to four and a half years.

His recent release was contingent upon posting a $1 million bail and adhering to strict conditions, including remaining in Spain while legal proceedings are continue.

So far since his release, Alves has received public support from his wife Joana Sanz, who reversed her decision to divorce him in the wake of his sexual assault charge.
