Kickoff between the two started over twenty minutes after a heavy downpour at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, on a Friday evening.

Eight minutes into the game, BUL grabbed a goal through left-back Nicholas Mwere off a massive deflection past goalkeeper Abdu Kimera.

Two minutes into added minutes of halftime, Isaac Wagoina restored parity for Express through a well-taken penalty.

Three minutes past the hour-mark, BUL defender Benon Tahomera was given matching orders after a reckless foul on Steven Ssenfuma.

Eight minutes later, his defensive partner Walter Ochora was also shown a direct red card to spur chaos on the BUL technical bench.

With the chaos getting tense, BUL deputy head coach Simeon Masaba was also sent for an early shower, while head coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko was shown a yellow card.

Despite the draw, BUL stayed top with 25 points in 10 games, and they will host NEC FC in their next game on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Express ascended seventh with 13 points in nine games, and they host SC Villa on Friday in their subsequent match.

In the other matches on the day, Nelson Senkatuka was yet again on the score-sheet as Soltilo Bright Stars drew 1-1 with Villa. Ivan Bogere netted the latter's leveller.

While Bright Stars moved to tenth with 11 points, Villa are now sixth on the 16-team log with 13.

On the other hand, the battle of strugglers between Wakiso Giants and Arua Hill SC ended in a 2-2 stalemate, as the two stayed 15th and 16th, with seven and five points, respectively.
