Delta Queens dropped points at home for the first time this season, after the visiting side forced them to a draw.
The Nigeria Women's Football League (NPFL) Premiership Group A clash between Delta Queens and Bayelsa Queens ended in a 1-1 draw on matchday eight at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
With the results, the Delta Queens dropped points at home for the first time this season after the visiting side forced them to a draw.
The hosts took the lead on a Mercy Omokwo goal in the 19th minute, and Etim Edidiong scored the equalizer to help the defending champions of the NWFL secure a 1-1 draw.
Recall that Bayelsa Queens lost 2-1 at home to Delta Queens in the last game of the first round (their first home loss).
With the result, Bayelsa Queens is in second place with 12 points, while Delta Queens maintains the top spot with 17 points.
Bayelsa will travel to Port Harcourt on matchday nine for a date with the third-placed Rivers Angels, who are two points behind the Prosperity Girls.
Rivers Angels shared the spoils with Royal Queens in Port Harcourt, while Delta Queens and Bayelsa Queens also played to a 1-1 draw.
Osun Babes is the only team with a home win, as they defeated Hearland Queens in Osun.
The last game of matchday eight between Confluence Queens and Ibom Angels of Uyo will be played on Friday, February 10th.
