The Hammers are the only Premier League side yet to make a signing and have used the unusual way to pursue new players amid tensions between club and manager David Moyes
West Ham’s increasingly desperate search for new signings has led the club to advertise for seven squad positions on the TransferRoom website.
The reigning Europa Conference League winners are the only Premier League side yet to make a senior signing in this summer’s transfer window, having sold captain Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105million last month.
Tim Steidten, 44, was appointed as West Ham’s new technical director at the start of July and there have been reports of tension between him and manager David Moyes over the profile of transfer targets being pursued. Moyes is keen on recruiting British and homegrown players.

FOOTBALL Mikel Arteta hints Declan Rice may take time to settle at Arsenal
Rice made his full unofficial debut in a pre-season friendly match against Manchester United before being subbed off after 60 minutes.
Deals for Harry Maguire, James Ward-Prowse, Conor Gallagher, and Scott McTominay have all failed to progress, leaving Moyes’ squad looking thin with the new season just a week away.
According to The Athletic, the positions posted by West Ham are for a left-back, centre-back, defensive midfielder, central midfielder, striker, winger and No 10.
The posts say that West Ham’s budget for each position is £20 million but makes clear they are also exploring the loan market.

TransferRoom is widely used throughout the football industry as a way for clubs to highlight positions in which they are seeking to recruit or sell, but it is extremely rare for Premier League clubs to advertise on it.
Moyes ended West Ham’s 42-year wait for a trophy by winning the Europa Conference League last season but the departure of Rice and the failure to strengthen a squad that finished in 14th place has prompted speculation over his future.
West Ham — who face Bayer Leverkusen in a friendly on Saturday — also have a daunting fixture list at the start of the new season which sees them take on Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Brighton, as well as Bournemouth and newly-promoted Luton, in their first six games.
