Rangers parted ways with Michael Beale citing poor results after only two wins in five Scottish Premiership mathes
Super Eagles stars Cyril Dessers and Leon Balogun’s Rangers team have been thrown into chaos following the sacking of manager Michael Beale who was sacked after a poor run of games.
Rangers part ways with Beale
Rangers under Beale finished second in the 2022/23 Scottish Premier League campaign and were knocked out of the preliminary round of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League after an inspired performance against PSV Eindhoven.
However, the club’s continued failures in the league have seen Beale relieved of his duties on Sunday following the team's latest failure in a loss at home to Aberdeen.
Rangers released a statement confirming Beale’s departure from the club, citing reasons why they could no longer carry on with the manager.
Results sink ex-Rangers manager Beale
Beale took over from former Arsenal and Barcelona defender Giovanni van Bronkhurst in the Rangers dugout but did not last up to a year before the club says results left them with no option but to part with Beale.
Rangers’ statement on Beale read, "Results this season have fallen short of what everyone connected to Rangers would expect," read a club statement.
"Therefore, the decision was reached today to terminate the contract of the manager, as well as the contracts of coaches Neil Banfield, Damian Matthew, Harry Watling and Jack Ade.
"The Rangers board would like to put on record their thanks to Michael and his staff for their efforts since joining the club last November."
Beale will be replaced by interim manager Steven Davis, while the club find a permanent manager to take over from the former Queens Park Rangers boss.
