AFC Leopards met President Ruto, where they discussed transformation plans after securing a Ksh10 million donation for their 60th anniversary and corporate transition.

Twelve-time league champions, AFC Leopards, have revealed the outcomes of a landmark meeting with President William Ruto held on Wednesday at State House, Nairobi.

The discussions facilitated by Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba centered on the club's ambitious plans to transition into a corporate entity, a move that President Ruto has wholeheartedly endorsed.

The president's advice to the club officials underscored the importance of transforming AFC Leopards into a self-sustaining and profitable organization, a vision that aligns with modern football's evolving landscape.

"We are profoundly grateful for the President's generous donation of Ksh 10 million towards the 'Ingwe at 60 celebrations,' a gesture that not only celebrates our heritage but also invests in our future," the club expressed in a statement.

Leopards Secretary General Gilbert Andugu provided a summary of the critical discussions held with President Ruto, outlining a future where AFC Leopards stands as a beacon of corporate and sporting excellence.

The club's journey towards becoming a corporate powerhouse will commence with the strategic utilization of the president's donation, which will serve as a catalyst for broader transformation initiatives.

A pivotal aspect of AFC Leopards' corporate strategy involves securing land for development projects.

In collaboration with Ababu Namwamba, the club will present a cabinet memo detailing their land acquisition proposal, setting the stage for infrastructure development that aligns with their long-term objectives.

The meeting was not just a dialogue but a pledge of mutual support, with Sports CS Ababu Namwamba and club officials, including chairman Dan Shikanda and club patron Alex Muteshi, committing to a unified approach towards realizing the club's ambitious goals.

The culmination of AFC Leopards' 60th Anniversary will spotlight the unveiling of 'AFC Incorp24', a corporate agenda that promises to redefine the club's operational framework.

Spearheaded by the club’s former CEO, Richard Ekhalie, and supported by the NEC and key stakeholders, 'AFC Incorp24' is set to revolutionize Ingwe's structure, transitioning from traditional patronage to a public limited company model.
