The official statement emphasized that his only legitimate social media platform is Instagram, under the verified handle [@eric_chelle].

This warning comes amid rising concerns over misinformation, particularly in the wake of Nigeria’s recent victory in the CAF 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Several fake accounts posing as Chelle have surfaced, spreading misleading content and fueling speculation among fans.

The NFF’s statement also advised supporters to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with unverified sources, telling fans to “Exercise caution and be wary of scams or any misleading information.”

Despite the online distractions, Eric Chelle remains focused on Nigeria’s World Cup qualification campaign.
