Lookman's Turning Point
Lookman's equalizer in the opening minute of the second half, seizing on a cross from Aleksey Miranchuk, injected new life into Atalanta.
Speaking to UEFA after the game, Lookman emphasized the significance of his goal, "Did you hear the roar after my goal? The fans were amazing tonight and scoring just in front of the supporters was just great."
He added, "I'm very happy because it was vital to equalize early in the second half. That goal helped us to play better."
The Nigeria national team's impact didn't stop there. Before making way for El Bilal Touré, Lookman nearly provided an assist, setting up Holm's header from a corner kick, only to be thwarted by Sporting CP goalkeeper Franco Israel.
Reflecting on the match, Lookman shared his joy for teammate Gianluca Scamacca, who netted the winning goal, "I'm also happy for Scamacca. You know, forwards always want to score!"
Lookman's stellar performance not only broke his dry spell in the Europa League but also ignited Atalanta's hopes for further success in the tournament.
