Osayi-Samuel, currently a first-team star at the Jose Mourinho-managed club could be set for new pastures based on the advice of his colleague.

Osayi-Samuel’s Fenerbahce contract running out

Since joining in 2021, Osayi-Samuel has been a mainstay in the Fenerbahce side, making 157 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing 14 assists in that time.

The Super Eagles regular has also been a key player under new boss Jose Mourinho, clocking 1,243 minutes this season despite suffering an injury that kept him out for more than a month.

While no official talks have begun between the clubs or between Galatasaray and Osayi-Samuel, reports in Turkey suggest that the Lions’ loan-star, Osimhen, could have put in a word to convince his national team colleague to make the switch.

Osimhen, himself on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli and considering a permanent move is reportedly enamoured with fans of the reigning Turkish Super Lig champions and has recommended that Osayi-Samuel ditches his current side to potentially team up with him.

A move from Fenerbahce to Galatasaray would certainly make Osayi-Samuel unpopular with the Canaries’ fans, but could also serve as a major career advancement with an opportunity to play for the biggest club in the land.
