The former FKF Premier League top scorer is set to reinforce the Bankers’ attack for the 2023-24 campaign.
KCB FC have confirmed the return of striker Derrick Otanga following his departure from Kenya Police FC at the end of last season.
Otanga initially left KCB in September 2022 for Libyan outfit Al-Ittihad Misrata SC, having been the top scorer in the 2021-22 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season when he bagged 16 goals, to put a number of teams on the continent on alert.

FOOTBALL Gor Mahia forward George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo reveals where his future lies
The ever-green attacker has explained his contract situation at K’Ogalo ahead of the 2023-24 season
He, however, lasted just four months with the North African side after finding playing time hard to come by and opted to return home and join big-spending Police.
But things did not go well again with the Law Enforcers, being limited to bit-part roles, and he decided to quit at the end of last season, having also lasted four months at the club.
With the red-hot form of Elvis Rupia who clinched the Golden Boot last season with 27 goals, Otanga's minutes on the pitch were a rarity.

FKFPL KCB's leading marksman Kennedy Owino facing an uncertain future at the club
The striker is not sure whether he will be at the club next season despite leading the scoring for the bankers in 2022-23
“I am back,” the player said following a clip posted by KCB on social media announcing his return.
Otanga will boost KCB’s attack with his goals and experience as his return is set to see increase competition for Kennedy ‘Daddy’ Owino who was the club’s top scorer with 10 goals last term.
Owino had fought to be the first-choice striker among a crop of four centre forwards that former head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno had at his disposal, the others being Henry Onyango, Francis Kahiro, and Nicholas Kipkirui.
Otanga’s arrival could also spell doom for the 24-year-old striker, whose current deal expires on August 24, with the Bankers yet to start talks over a possible extension.
