The Men's Singles final showcased a German battle between Ovtcharov and Ricardo Walther.

Ovtcharov, an experienced player and a 2023 finalist, while Walther, in his debut at WTT Contender Lagos, aimed to leave a lasting impression by clinching a win.

However, Ovtcharov emerged victorious over Walther with a score of 4-1 (11-7, 11-7, 7-11, 12-10, 11-6), claiming his second WTT Series singles title.

Indian Akula Wins Women's Singles

In the Women's Singles final, Indian player Akula and China's Ding Yijie competed in their debut WTT Series singles final.

Akula, a two-time WTT Feeder Series champion, and Ding, a promising talent with four WTT Youth Series titles, fought intensely for the title.

In the end, Akula claimed a 4-1 victory (10-12, 11-9, 11-6, 11-8, 11-6), extending her legacy with a Women's Doubles triumph.

Ding, in her WTT Series debut, sought to become the lowest-ranked player to capture a WTT Series Women's Singles title, but it wasn't to be.

In the Women's Doubles final, the Indian duo of Sreeja Akula and Archana Girish Kamath faced off against compatriots Yashaswini Ghorpade and Diya Parag Chitale.

While both pairs displayed remarkable teamwork and skill, Akula and Kamath emerged victorious with a 3-0 win (11-9, 11-6, 12-10) in their debut international final together.

The Men’s Doubles final featured a clash between the Nigerian duo of Azeez Solanke and Olajide Omotayo and the Indian pair of Harmeet Desai and Manav Vikash Thakkar.

Solanke and Omotayo, in their second international event as partners, challenged the seasoned duo of Desai and Thakkar, who have been a team since 2016.

In the Mixed Doubles final yesterday, Shin Yubin and Lim Jonghoon of Korea Republic reigned as champions in their third WTT Series Mixed Doubles title together in 2024, defeating Xu Huiyao and Luo Jiecheng of China 3-0 (11-4, 11-9, 11-4).

The event featured 32-draw Men’s and Women’s Singles, 16-draw Men’s and Women’s Doubles, and 16-draw Mixed Doubles, all vying for a share of the $80,000 prize pool and ITTF World Ranking points.
