Edo Queens dominate WAFU-B Women’s Championship, qualify for CAF Champions League

Edo Queens will represent WAFU B in CAF women's Champions League Finals in Cairo, Egypt later this year.

Edo Queens have clinched the WAFU-B Women’s Championship to secure their place in the fourth edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.

A brace from Emem Essien and another goal from Suliat Abideen secured a comfortable win. The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) champions defeated Benin Republic’s Ainonvi FC 3-0 in the final.

Edo Queens dominated the final of the WAFU B CAF Champions League qualifiers from start to finish to book a place in the CAF women's Champions League Finals in Cairo, Egypt later this year.

The team led by Coach Moses Aduku, Edo Queens showcased exceptional dominance throughout the tournament. They began their campaign with a resounding 5-0 victory over AS Garde from Niger and followed it up with a 3-0 win over Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies.

In the semi-finals, they overcame Inter D’Abidjan 2-1, to book their spot in the final.

Edo Queens is WAFU-B Women’s Champion. Their new milestone solidifies Nigeria’s position in women’s football on the African continent.
