Former Brighton star Enock Mwepu rushed to the hospital after reportedly collapsing due to a suspected heart attack
Zambian star Enock Mwepu has reportedly been rushed to the hospital after he collapsed due to a suspected heart attack.
The 25-year-old former Brighton midfielder was forced to retire from football after being diagnosed with a hereditary heart condition back in October 2022.
The Zambian has since been given a role by Brighton as an academy coach which he only just started this year, working with the under 9s.
Mwepu rushed to the hospital after collapsing
According to reports by Zambian Observer, Mwepu experienced a suspected heart attack and fell off the car he was driving.
He was then reportedly picked up by a good Samaritan who rushed the former Zambian international to the UTH hospital in his home country.
The vehicle being driven by Mwepu was spotted earlier swerving on Great North Road and a source close to the story said the incident happened when Mwepu was driving towards Kabangwe when he experienced the discomfort.
Description of the incident
“Mwepu was driving along Great North Road near Kabangwe area, he was heading out of town, the source told Zambia Observer.
“So, its like he started having obviously heart issues. When he started having cardiac arrest. He started driving zig zag, so, the vehicle that was just driving behind him, when they saw his not driving safely," the source continued narrating.
“Then he eventually parked, and came out of the vehicle and fell,” the narration concluded, giving a clear idea of the incident.
