Our verdict: If anyone can win the quadruple with an English side, Pep Guardiola would be the likeliest candidate. We don’t see that happening this season, however. A still difficult, albeit more realistic goal is an unbeaten campaign, which only the Invincible Arsenal team of 2004 have done. If City can somehow pull off an invincible campaign and successfully defend their UCL trophy, that would also be seen as an improvement on last season.

Arsenal
After coming so close last season, Mikel Arteta has identified and brought in players he’s confident can bring Arsenal that elusive Premier League title win for the first time in 19 years.
In Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber, Arsenal have recruited some of the brightest talent at their respective positions. Their other summer signing so far; Kai Havertz, was the most sought-after youngster in Europe before his ill-fated move to Chelsea. If he can rediscover his Bayer Leverkusen form, Arsenal will be even better than they were last season.
Count on Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli to continue to improve while William Saliba already looks like one of the best centre backs in world football. The future is indeed bright for the Gunners, and we’re excited to see how they perform next season.
Our verdict: A return to the UEFA Champions League, while long overdue, will put some pressure on this young Arsenal side. Will they look to go far in Europe or prioritize their English Premier League campaign? If City slip up, they’re best placed to capitalize.

Manchester United
Could Man United finally be back? The Red Devils finished a respectable 3rd in the league last season and broke their trophyless spell with a Capital One Cup win.
Heading into the coming season, Erik ten Hag finally has the ball-playing goalkeeper he has craved at Man United in Andre Onana, along with Mason Mount and the incoming Rasmus Højlund.
New captain Bruno Fernandes remains one of the most creative players in the division, if not the most liked and will be tasked with creating chances for the United forwards to feast on, including an in-form Marcus Rashford.
Our verdict: Encouraging transfer activity so far, but we don’t think United is good enough to win the EPL just yet.
Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side came to prominence off a fast-paced, high-pressing style of football that suffocated opponents high up the pitch, allowing Liverpool plenty of quality chances close to the opposition goal. Unfortunately, that was not the case last season.
Ahead of the new campaign, it seems like the Liverpool boss has returned to what he knows best with his summer signings so far. In Alexis MacAllister and Dominik Szoboszlai, the German manager has the kind of midfielders that have both the technique and guile top-class midfielders need in modern football.
Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz are all back and firing and will be deployed alongside Mo Salah in the attack.
Our verdict: Where Liverpool are light is in defensive midfield where they don’t have a true stopper whose job is to sit back and let the attacking talents shine, secure in his presence to mop up behind them. Replacing Fabinho is paramount if they’re to compete for the biggest titles with Manchester City again.
