Sudanese giant AL-Merreikh have confirmed that one of their players, Ahmed Abdel Salaam was killed by an explosion in the war-torn country on Friday.
Abdelsalaam was a victim of a rocket bomb that hit their home on Friday.
The war in the country is between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces that started in the capital Khartoum before spreading to other parts of the country.

Football activities have been halted in the CECAFA nation following the protracted conflicts that has now gone on for months.
“With great sadness and sorrow, the president of Al-Merrikh club, members of the board of directors and the club's fans mourn the [death] player of the reserve team, Ahmed Abdel Salam after he was injured by a "projectile",” the club announced.
“As we mourn him, we send our deepest condolences to his young family and the sports family, asking God Almighty to accept him,” the message added.
Merreikh is also home to former Express striker Eric Kambale.
