Maroons FC midfielder Abel Etrude is equally fired up, having previously featured for the record league champions for three seasons; the midfield anchorman says he can not wait to face his former side, especially at this crucial point in the season.
As Maroons FC prepares to host SC Villa on matchday 26 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, the fans are not the only ones anxiously waiting for the fixture.
Maroons FC midfielder Abel Etrude is equally fired up, having previously featured for the record league champions for three seasons; the midfield anchorman says he can not wait to face his former side, especially at this crucial point in the season.
"I am very prepared for them (Villa)," Eturude told Pulse Sports on the sidelines of the Maroons' final training session on Tuesday before adding.
"I want to put up a good show, but they are a good team because they are at the table and play as a unit."
Etrude has managed two goals, two assists and two Pilsner Man of the Match awards in as many games in the second round, which he hopes to better in the remaining games left in the season.

Football Etrude ready to turn a new leaf at Maroons FC
Etrude started out at Maroons before stints at SC Villa, Onduparaka FC and Express FC but it’s with the Red Eagles where he won silverware, winning the Uganda Premier League and CECAFA Kagame cup in 2021.
"Yes, I am happy with my performance thus far, but I feel I can do more; my target remains scoring five goals and picking up seven assists in the remaining games left," he noted.
"I want to assist our forwards in scoring more goals as well." Maroons have made the Luzira stadium a fortress, beating KCCA FC and picking two points off URA FC and Vipers SC, respectively.
SC Villa sit on top of the log with 46 points after 24 games played, and a win against Maroons would get them back to the summit of the table if KCCA FC fails to win against Onduparaka FC on Tuesday.
For Maroons FC, a win would move them from seventh to fourth on 36 points, two ahead of URA FC.
