Why you should be excited aboit Germany at the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024.
With the tournament in Germany set to begin on Friday, here is how much the players and teams will earn during the competition.
How much money national teams and players earn at the European Championship?
According to Marca, participating players in the European Championship are not paid a set sum of money for their participation.
However, while the players are compensated for their participation in the competition, it is not the same as their club's regular income.
For the 24 participating teams' squad members to receive payment for competing in the competition, a deal with their respective federations must be reached.
There are two forms of payment received by the players, which are per diems and bonuses. Per diems are typically paid based on the quantity of days that the player spends "away from home," or in training, while performance is what determines bonuses.
If the German national team, which is hosting the European Championship this summer, wins, each player will receive 400,000 euros.
