The main aim being glory, Spanish players are also reportedly out for revenge ahead of the European Championship final.

Spanish national team players reportedly will have revenge on their minds against a specific English player when they set out for the final of the European Championships on Sunday.

Given that this competition has a 16-year-old debutant, it is unsurprising that some players who played the u-21 Euros last summer are in the senior competition this year.

Cole Palmer was one such player. In fact, he assisted the only goal in the final to help England best Spain. The 21-year-old opted to taunt the Spanish bench after Curtis Jones’s winner.

The gesture incensed the Spaniards and it led to a full-on scuffle before calmer heads prevailed. Alejandro Baena, who is at the Euros with Spain, also played in the age-grade version, and he cut a particularly livid gesture after Palmer's antics.

The Chelsea man is not expected to get a starting berth, given the form of Bukayo Saka in the left-wing position. However, he should feature at some point and it remains to be seen what reception he will receive from Spain's players.

According to AS, the Spanish dressing room remember Palmer’s transgression, and they sought revenge.

Victory for Spain will make them European Champions for the fourth time in their history. England, on the other hand, despite success in the age-grade competitions, has yet to ever become European champions.

Meanwhile, Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has warned England of the threat Spain poses on the flanks. He praised Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, before comparing the Athletic Club man to his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo
