Real Madrid's new addition was unable to join team training in France's training camp for Euro 2024

Fans of Real Madrid and France have been left sweating over the fitness of star forward Kylian Mbappe who was unavailable to train with his Les Bleus teammates ahead of their friendly against Canada.

According to RMC Sport, Mbappe missed France training on Saturday, and the French captain’s absence from training has raised concerns among fans of Les Bleus, especially with the start of UEFA EURO 2024 less than a week away.

Mbappe misses France training as precaution

RMC Sport reports that instead of joining the collective training session, Mbappe underwent a solo training session indoors which focused on fitness, and was conducted away from the rest of the squad.

The decision to keep him out of the main training session suggests that the medical team is being extra cautious to ensure he is in peak condition for the upcoming European Championships for which France are among the favourites. Such measures are not uncommon for key players, especially when there are minor concerns that could potentially lead to more severe issues if not properly managed.

Mbappe adds to France injury concerns

If Mbappe’s absence from training turns out to be more than just a precaution, it could add to Didier Deschamps' growing list of injury concerns ahead of the 2024 Euros.

According to L’Equipe, three other players in the squad—Kingsley Coman, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Adrien Rabiot—are also set to miss the match against Canada due to their own fitness issues, and their extended absences could cause Deschamps headaches with the Euros mere days away.
