Postecoglou believes Mo Salah will struggle in his team's current squad.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou believes his team's current struggles are so big that even a player of Mohamed Salah's calibre would find it difficult to perform at his usual high level.
Ahead of their League Cup semi-final first leg against Premier League leaders Liverpool, Postecoglou acknowledged Salah's impressive record of 21 goals and 17 assists this season.

However, he argued that the Egyptian winger's output would likely be diminished if he were playing for the current Spurs side, that have dropped to 12th in the league and lost three of their last four games.
"Mo is a world-class player but if you put him in our team now I'm not sure he'll have that same level of performance because of the situation we're in as a group," Postecoglou told reporters.
He explained that a player needs a team that is in good form, creating chances, playing attacking football, and has a solid and cohesive defense.

'Maybe some of those players will play tomorrow' - Slot on plans to bench Mo Salah in Tottenham clash
Slot revealed that he might bench Mo Salah and other first-team players against Tottenham.
He admitted that Spurs currently lack these elements and are relying too heavily on individual moments of brilliance.
In contrast, Postecoglou suggested that Spurs captain Son Heung-min, who has had a less prolific season with just seven goals, would likely thrive in Liverpool's current setup.
"It will be dangerous to say that if you put Sonny in Liverpool's team, I reckon his goalscoring return would be decent," he said.
He added that when Spurs are playing at their best, Son's goalscoring ability is still evident.
Spurs recently triggered a one-year extension in Son's contract.
