Wilson was the star of the day after he scored a brace while Joelinton and Murphy, who also netted in the 6-1 demolition of Tottenham, grabbed a goal each to fire the Magpies to another brilliant outing.

Newcastle produce fireworks

The Magpies are as rampant as they come but started slowly at Goodison as Everton swamped around their box looking for an early lead.

Newcastle United are looking good for Champions League football.

Led by Iwobi, the Toffees dominated the opening quarter of the game before against the run of play, Wilson fired him a rebound off good work by Joelinton to put the Magpies ahead.

That goal seemed to rejuvenate the visitors who asked more questions but there would no more goals heading into the break with the away side ahead.

After the break, it was more of the same until Newcastle fired in two-quick fire goals to all but sealed the game with Joelinton and Wilson, who got his second, at the end of the goals.

Dwight McNeil pulled one back in the 80th minute but it was nothing more than a consolation as Murphy restored Newcastle’s lead just moments later.

Fabian Schar added a superb fifth in added time but it was unfortunately ruled out by the VAF for offside as the Magpies held on for another important win.
