Everton have reportedly had a loan bid for Watford's Ismailla Sarr turned down.

Watford are said to have turned down a bid from Everton for the signing of Ismaila Sarr on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy.

The 24-year-old right winger attracted much interest from Premier League clubs following their relegation, with Watford refusing to part with the winger. The Hornets have continued in the same vein, rejecting Everton’s loan offer.

The Athletic reports that Everton made an offer to Watford for the loan of Ismailla Sarr with an obligation to buy should Everton, who are currently 19th, escape the drop.

The Toffees were said to have offered £2 million for Sarr's loan for the remainder of the season, as well as a £30 million obligation to buy if Everton avoided relegation and a £4 million appearance bonus.

Watford are claimed to have turned down the bid, as they have no interest in losing Ismaila Sarr in January, especially this late in the transfer window.

The Hornets, who are currently 4th on the Championship table, believe Sarr, who has scored six league goals for them this season, is important for their qualification bid, hence their refusal to see him go.

Everton are looking to bring in Sarr following the loss of their young winger Anthony Gordon to Newcastle this window, and they have now been dealt their second rejection in as many days after Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher turned down a move to Goodison Park.
