Graham Potter is finding it hard to move on from Chelsea after the English manager rejected a possible transfer to Scottish giants Rangers, with those close to the manager revealing that he will only consider a new job if it is as part of the company's wishes

Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter has reportedly rejected a second offer to take over the reins of a club as he waits for an offer from a side competing in the UEFA Champions League.

Potter endured a disastrous spell as Chelsea boss that saw them eventually finish in the bottom half of the Premier League in the 2022/23 season, but that has not allowed him to view himself in a humbling light as he patiently waits for a new opportunity at management.

The former Brighton manager has had offers from clubs in and out of England but is reportedly not in a hurry to pick a new project as he would like to manage a club playing in Europe’s elite competition.

The English manager, as reported earlier, rejected a move to managerless Lyon, who are now on the verge of appointing Italian gaffer Fabio Grosso, and he has now also allegedly rejected an approach from Scottish side Rangers.

The Scottish giants missed out on a place in the Group stages of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League, and while this failure has cast doubts over manager Michael Beale, it could have also ensured that Rangers are unable to get their preferred replacement for their English head coach.

According to the Daily Mail, Potter has decided to only return to management in the meantime if he gets an offer from a team in the UCL, effectively ruling out Rangers, Lyon, and a host of other clubs that might be interested in his services.

With only 36 teams in the competition, Potter has left himself slim pickings, especially considering his reputation was hit after the Chelsea disaster, but he could still get a team as the season progresses and more managers are forced to leave their positions.
