Manchester United ex-manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy has finally broken his silence following his departure from Old Trafford.

Nistelrooy became the caretaker for the Man United team after the sacking of Erik Ten Hag a few weeks ago.

However, his time as the interim manager of the team was cut short following the appointment of the new manager, Ruben Amorim.

Upon the arrival of the former Sporting CP manager, Nistelrooy was informed that his services were no longer needed at the club, with Amorim bringing his backroom staff.

In an emotional post to X, he said, “To everyone at Manchester United Football Club, in particular the backroom staff, the players and the fans. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your incredible efforts and support.

“It has been a privilege and honour to represent the club as a player, coach and manager, and I will always cherish the memories we have shared together.

“@ManUtd will always have a special place in my heart, and I hope there are many more glory days at Old Trafford very soon - not only because I want the club to do well, but because you all deserve it! All the best and take care, Ruud.”

Van Nistelrooy stated that he will "cherish the memories" of his tenure as the manager of Manchester United.

As it stands, the former PSV manager is yet to confirm his next destination, with a few clubs looking to appoint him.
