Martial has verbally agreed to a three-year deal with AEK Athens after becoming a free agent at the end of last season.
Former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is reportedly on the verge of signing a record-breaking contract with Greek club AEK Athens. The 28-year-old has been a free agent since leaving Old Trafford at the end of last season.
According to multiple reports, Martial has verbally agreed to a three-year deal with AEK Athens, which would make it the most lucrative contract in the club's history. The deal is reportedly worth £2.5 million per season, totalling £7.5 million over three years.

Martial's decision to join AEK Athens comes after his talks with Flamengo in Brazil broke down due to his insistence on a three-year contract.
Despite interest from other clubs, including Lille, Atalanta, Marseille, and Besiktas, Greek side AEK managed to secure the Frenchman's signature.

In light of Benjamin Sesko's snub, the Red Devils have seemingly drawn up a list of centre-forwards to replace Anthony Martial.
If the deal goes through, Martial will join a team that includes former Tottenham star Erik Lamela, Watford veterans Roberto Pereyra and Nordin Amrabat, and ex-Brentford goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.
AEK's hopes of signing David Datro Fofana from Chelsea on loan fell through, but they have secured the services of Martial instead. The Greek side is expected to announce the transfer soon, although some details still need to be finalised.
Martial's move to AEK Athens marks a significant pay cut from his time at Manchester United, where he earned £250,000 per week.
However, he will be joining a competitive team that finished just two points behind the league champions last season. Despite missing out on European football this year, Martial will have the opportunity to showcase his skills in the Greek Super League.
