Rafa Benitez, snubs Ronaldo, picks Steven Gerrard
Benitez reflected on his time managing top-tier players, including Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, Fernando Torres, Gonzalo Higuain, Petr Cech, Xabi Alonso, and Javier Mascherano.
He told BBC, "I coached some incredible players... but the best player I would say I ever coached was Steven Gerrard.
"He was the best because he was more complete, good in attack, good in defence, and had everything you wanted in a player, on the pitch,h and off the pitch."
Gerrard was with Liverpool from age nine to 35 and captained the Reds from 2003 to 2015, winning multiple trophies, including the UEFA Champions League under Benitez in 2005.
