Former Nigerian international Julius Aghahowa has sounded a warning to the Super Eagles ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Rwanda.

Former Nigerian international Sam Elijah has questioned national team coach Eric Chelle's decision to leave striker Taiwo Awoniyi out of the provisional squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
"Players want to prove themselves to the new coach, so it could be disadvantageous to us. It could also be advantageous to us; their coach might want to experiment," Aghahowa said.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to play away against Rwanda in Kigali on March 21 before hosting Zimbabwe on March 25.
