‘He had better hold up play’ — Manchester United fans missing Ighalo amidst Zirkzee, Hojlund struggles
Odion Ighalo may have spent a short year at Manchester United, but his impact has not been forgotten especially with the Red Devils' current forwards misfiring
Leading the birthday wishes, Ighalo shared a post on his Instagram story that read, “Happy birthday blood. Wishing you many more blessings and favour.”
This sentiment was echoed by legendary goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, who commented on Osimhen's post, “Happy birthday, star boy. Wishing you long life in good health and prosperity.”
Current Super Eagles player Victor Boniface also joined in with a simple yet warm message: “Happy birthday my broski.”
Midfielder John Ogu was not left out as he added a touching note, stating, “King, I wish everything great in life. I pray God keeps elevating you; stay winning.”
Osimhen is expected to celebrate his special day in Nigeria, where he has been enjoying a holiday.
His impressive performance this season has contributed significantly to Galatasaray's dominance so far; he has netted 12 goals in just 15 appearances for Galatasaray across all competitions.
As he marks this milestone, the Nigerian football community is filled with admiration for his achievements and hopes for his continued success on and off the pitch.
Taiwo's message to Osimhen
Meanwhile, just before turning 26, another Super Eagles icon Taye Taiwo had an interesting pre-birthday message for the celebrant.
As reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria, Taiwo has been impressed with Osimhen’s brilliant showing at Rams Park for Galatasaray but has demanded a return to the big league.
According to the 39-year-old former defender, Osimhen should be starring for one of the big teams in Europe’s top five leagues and must leave Turkey and Gala in January.
“At the moment, the market is more favourable than in the summer, and Napoli is willing to sell,” he added. “If Manchester United, Chelsea or Arsenal approach him, he should seize the opportunity.”
Despite Taiwo’s position, Osimhen remains important to Galatasaray, who are pulling all the stops to hold on to their talisman, especially after losing partner Mauro Icardi to a long-term injury.
