New faces in the squad

Despite these challenges, Express FC has bolstered its squad with some exciting signings, aiming to reclaim their position at the top of Ugandan football.

Emmanuel Wasswa

The versatile midfielder, on loan from KCCA FC, brings a wealth of leadership and experience to the team.

Having previously featured for KCCA FC and S.C Villa, Wasswa's adaptability to play as a centre-back or holding midfielder is a valuable asset.

Andrew Kawooya

With lightning speed and an exceptional ability in dead-ball situations, former Uganda Hippos winger Andrew Kawooya promises to be a formidable attacking force for the Red Eagles.

His pace and set-piece expertise will undoubtedly trouble opposition defenses.

Alpha Thierry Ssali

The highly-rated youngster has signed a two-year contract with the team. Known for his lightning-fast speed and the ability to outmanoeuvre defenders, Ssali is expected to inject vitality into Express FC's offence.

His knack for finding the back of the net adds an extra dimension to the team's attacking prowess.

Formerly of KCCA FC, left wing-back Brian Majwega strengthens the team's backline. His marauding runs down the left wing, and precise crosses will be pivotal in creating scoring opportunities.

Seif Batte and Isaac Waigona

Following the departure of last season's top goal scorer, Allan Kayiwa, Seif Batte, and Isaac Waigona have big shoes to fill.

Kayiwa's 13 goals were crucial for Express FC, and these new acquisitions must work tirelessly to make up for his absence.

Player to watch

As Express FC undergoes this transformation, all eyes will be on 19-year-old Alpha Thierry Ssali.
