Dedicated Funke doesn't joke with goals

Funke scored two of the goals in the first-half before adding a second-half hat-trick in a dominant display to help her club reach the national finals.

According to the elated coach, who showered Funke with praise, the 15-year-old forward is one player who is disciplined and doesn't joke with (scoring) goals.

“Funke is very disciplined, devoted and a team player,” coach Favour told Pulse Sports Nigeria.

Funke (no. 8) will be looking to announce her further in the national finals.

“She is the kind of forward who doesn't take goals for a joke. She has speed and above all is never absent from training.”

Greenfoot FA to represent Enugu

With the win over Immaculate FA in the final, Greenfoot FA are confirmed as Enugu State champions and will represent Coal City in the Federation Cup national finals.

On what the feat means for his club, coach Favour added that it is an opportunity that will allow him and his team to further expose Funke and her teammates at the club.

Green Foot FA will represent Enugu State in the Federation Cup.

“For Greenfoot Sports Academy, playing in the national finals means a lot for the team, management and the players individually,” the coach added.

“We see it as an opportunity to expose the team and the young devoted talents we have in the team.”

Greenfoot will see this as sweet revenge after Immaculate FA defeated them in the semifinal last season. Both academies were the only teams who competed in the Women's FA Cup in Enugu.
